Paints and Coatings

PAX-it is used in a wide variety of paint analysis and dirt analysis applications, saving companies time and money. Use the PAX-it image database software to build a catalog or dirt library. Capture images with an analog camera, digital camera or PAXcam digital microscope camera and organize them in the PAX-it database, storing database information and notes with each image, and annotating them with overlays of shapes, arrows, and text.

Save unique information with each image, allowing searches in the PAX-it database. Notes and on-image overlays are also supported.

When problems are encountered on your production line, a quick database search of your dirt library will bring up matches instantly. No more need to spend hours searching through books of Polaroids or other printed reference materials. Once the match is found, all of the other pertinent information about that image is displayed.

PAX-it software may also be used for the analysis and measurement of paint or coating layers. PAX-it image analysis software performs quick, consistent, repeatable analyses and creates reports of your design.

Use PAX-it to store your images from light microscopes, stereozoom microscopes, SEM, handheld cameras, shop cameras, any source!

Store and work with images of your samples:

  • Fibers
  • Craters
  • Pits
  • Dirt and other foreign materials
  • Cracks
  • Non-image files such as reports, presentations, documents, and other files types can also be managed in your PAX-it collection

Use PAXcam to capture images from microscopes in the lab, or in a paint booth, or import images from a hand-held camera on the plant floor. Use PAX-it networking software to tie various locations or departments together. This creates a quick and easy method for sharing a searchable database of images and reports–betweens sites, with engineers, suppliers or others in a secure, user-permissioned environment.

For immediate help with quality issues, use the PAXcam CONNECT system to stream a live microscope view to a colleague at a remote location. No need to overnight samples or wait for help; live streaming gives an instantly accessible view through your microscope, from across the hall or around the world!
